Dress Code

1. Encourages Discipline and Readiness: A consistent dress code helps students understand that ballet class is a time for focused learning. Arriving already changed into proper ballet attire, with hair neatly secured in a ballet bun, allows dancers to begin on time and make the most of every lesson.
2. Keeps Attention on Learning: The required uniform, properly fitted dance shoes, and securely styled hair help dancers move comfortably without unnecessary distractions. Jewellery should be removed before class, and appropriate dancewear allows teachers to clearly observe posture, alignment, and technique.
3. Develops Respect and Responsibility: Taking care of personal presentation and arriving fully prepared builds good habits from an early age. At Bayview School of Ballet, these expectations encourage respect for teachers and classmates while giving students a shared sense of belonging.
4. Creates a Polished Group Appearance: Wearing shoes and tights in the approved brand, style, and colour, together with neat ballet buns, helps dancers look coordinated on stage. This consistency supports a well-prepared presentation and allows the audience to focus on the dancers’ movement and expression.
