"Since 2000, after the passing away of Bella Kovarsky, Anna Kovarsky has continued her mother's legacy. Today, Bayview School of Ballet has doubled its number of students and has a highly professional team of teachers and piano accompanists.
Anna has dedicated her time and talents towards making the Bayview School of Ballet a community for parents, students, and grandparents. Anna has been praised by parents, the wider community, and dance educators for keeping her mother's spirit and tradition alive through the continued flourishing of the Bayview School of Ballet".
Graduated from Moscow Academy of Ballet. She was a leading soloist for 18 years with the Russian Dance Company of Moscow. Ms. Shapovalova also graduated from The National Ballet School of Canada Teachers Program.
She has a solid background teaching in Russia, North America and Canada. For the past eight years Ms. Shapovalova has been a respected ballet teacher at Bayview School of Ballet.
Graduated from the ballet academy of the Bolshoi Ballet Theatre, Moscow. For 18 years Larissa was a Principal Dancer in Leningrad State Company (Saint Petersburg). Ms. Kouznetsova gained professional world wide recognition for her master classes and choreographies. From 1994 Ms. Kouznetsova has been sharing her creativity and unique teaching ability on daily basis with students at BSB.
Principal Ballet Master
Graduated from Institute of Culture in Samara, Russia. After graduation Mr. Iablokov was accepted as a Principal Dancer at the Leningrad State Theatre where he worked for 10 years. In 1993 Mr. Iablokov became a Principal Dancer of Ontario Ballet Theatre and from 1996-2002 he was an Artistic
Director of Ontario Ballet Theatre. Presently Mr. Iablokov shares his tremendous knowledge and expertise with students at Bayview School of Ballet.
Flamenco Modus Operandi Teacher
Esmeralda trains in flamenco, classical Spanish and regional dance offering students classes for recreation, to gain grace and poise or with hope of pursuing a professional career. Students are stimulated and challenged in a positive atmosphere. The satisfaction that comes with achievement benefits many other aspects of their lives.
Teresa Whaley, DMA
Tap & Jazz Teacher,
Teresa started her dance training at B.S.B. at age 4 under the direction of Bella Kovarsky. Teresa has successfully competed in many Regional and National Competitions winning numerous awards. She has participated in several professional workshops such as Tap Dogs, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Steps on Broadways and Be Discovered. Her dance students' recent achievements include winning Highest Score Awards, First Mini Large Group, First Jr. Extended Line, Second Team Pre-comp Large Group at various dance competitions. Teresa is a certified teacher and member of Dance Masters of America.
Tap / Jazz Teacher is an imaginative mover, choreographer and teacher from Port Coquitlam, BC who recently received her BFA in Dance from York University in the choreography and performance stream. Nicole has worked with many influential artists including Lindsay Wilson, Joshua Beamish, Christina Woodard, Ferd Tocol, Katie Bois, Julia Sasso, Tracey Norman and Susan Lee, who have all shaped the way she moves and thinks.

Eleanor van Veen
Eleanor van Veen, a young and powerful dance artist based out of Toronto. Received her professional training at The Conteur Academy under the direction of Eryn Waltman. Worked with prominent educators and choreographers such as: Hanna Kiel with Human Body Expression, Alysa Pires with Alysa Pires Dance Projects, Roberto Campenella, Tori Mehaffey and Robert Glumbek with ProArteDanza, and Igor Bacovich and Iratxe Ansa with The Metamorphosis Method. Performed in world premiere of ‘Resonance’. Eleanor is thrilled to join the faculty of Bayview School of Ballet.
began ballet lessons at the age of nine, later dancing with the National Ballet of Peru
for many years until she moved to the US to pursue a teaching career. Her post secondary education
includes the completion with honours of an associates degree in Early Childhood Education from an institution in the US. In addition, Pamela's teaching experience includes over eighteen years with preschool students in the United States, Vancouver and Toronto, as well as experience as a ballet and creative movement instructor for adults and children.
Brings with her a wealth of dance experience coupled with years of elite ballet training and education. A graduate of the Riga Choreography School in Latvia, Elvira spent a number of years studying directly under Bella Kovarsky. During her last two years of studies Elvira took part in the coveted internship program at the prestigious Riga Opera and Ballet Theatre as one of their dancers. After graduating she spent over a decade performing as a principal dancer at the Riga Operetta Theatre until moving to Canada. Upon relocating here Elvira diversified her experience further by working as a dancer, teacher and choreographer for Celebrity Enterprises, an exclusive dance and choreography company based in Toronto.
Pianist / Composer
Graduated from Kharkov, Ukraine National Kotlyarevsky University of Arts, faculty of musicology and performance.
Since moving to Canada Viktor dedicated himself exclusively to music performing on various concerts stages and working as an accompanist for different Ballet Schools of Toronto. Viktor is a composer, and a member of SOCAN.
Director of Children's Ballet Division
Maria was born into a professional dance family based in Moscow, Russia. She attended Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts in Toronto majoring in dance while taking classes at The National Ballet School of Canada and performing as a soloist in Bayview School of Ballet. Today she continues to share her expertise with the students of Bayview School of Ballet.
Jazz | Tap | Hip-Hop Teacher
Claudia began her dance training with Paula Moreno School of Spanish Dance in 1998. She has trained at several flamenco schools in Ontario and traveled abroad to study with
flamenco professionals from southern Spain. Her knowledge of flamenco singing, theory, as well as her post-secondary education in dance has enabled Claudia to connect with dancers trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop in a way that makes flamenco accessible and comprehensive.
Creative Director / Art Consultant
Vienna is an interior designer, photographer and graphic designer, with more than 22 years of global experience. Vienna is the person behind renovating the school and transforming it into a state of modern art. She is our creative director consultant.
