Bella Kovarsky

She was destined to become a Ballerina and it wasn’t long before her name was written in bright and shining lights:
BELLA KOVARSKY

Throughout her career as a dancer, Bella graced many world class stages. With each performance, her passion, energy and love of Ballet could not go unnoticed-Bella owned the stage. In pursuit of her professional development and growth, Kovarsky worked at the prestigiously acclaimed Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg where she received an honours degree as a teacher of classical ballet and character dance.  Throughout her career as an educator, Bella’s pupils included Ballet sensations: Mikhail Baryshnikov and Alexander Godunov. In 1982, Bella’s extensive experience and expertise gave her the courage and strength to single-handily establish the Bayview School of Ballet in Toronto. Upon founding the Bayview School of Ballet, Kovarsky enriched Canadian culture by becoming one of the first master teachers to introduce the Russian classical teaching method  into Canada.

Both as a performer and educator, Bella Kovarsky dedicated her life to the world of Ballet. Throughout her career, Bella Kovarsky’s unwavering professionalism, exceptional creativity and unique teaching ability earned her a world renowned and immensely respected reputation.
The Bayview School of Ballet is committed to
keeping Bella’s legacy alive through upholding her high-standard of excellence, dedication and professionalism.

1936-2000
